At Wings Hawaii, “for real life mermaids” isn’t just our tagline, it’s our whoooole actual lifestyle. Take Tara Timpone, for example, our assistant jeweler and in-house photographer. When we asked her what a real-life mermaid means to her, Tara replied: “Someone who loves and appreciates the ocean, and cares about preserving and protecting it, and all the creatures that call it home.”
That perfectly describes Tara, a lifelong waterwoman and animal lover who calls the ocean her happy place. An avid freediver, longboarder, and kayaker, Tara has also been photographing and swimming with whales since 2019, with treks to Tahiti, Tonga, and the Cook Islands to do so.
We’re Wings Hawaii, a woman-owned small business on the beautiful island of Maui, in the north shore town of Paia. Our jewelry and garments are lovingly handmade by local artisans, with eco-consciousness at our forefront.
Once upon a time, there was a cozy little mom-and-pop shop that served arguably the best cup of joe in North Shore Maui. For those resident mermaids familiar with our beloved beachside town, you may or may not remember Anthony’s Coffee Co. It was a popular spot for freshly roasted coffee beans, a unique selection of island gifts, and the tastiest Road to Hana picnic lunches. When one of our favorite coffee places closed their doors, it was an incredibly sad day but we are happy to announce that our most recent Wings Hawaii move has finally cleared the boarded-up...
If you are keeping up with current events, or experiencing it first hand, you may have noticed the most recent brush the Hawaiian Islands had with mother nature. While Hurricane Lane just grazed us, it was a very real reminder of just how powerful and wild the elements can be.
I got the Pau Hana pants in S. I think they are too large. I wear them but they stretch a lot immediately! A bit too oversized looking!!! I’m 5’2” and 106 lbs. Wish you will make them in XS. I’d buy a pair in black or a neutral color.
